a NETFLIX pseudo documentary plays on the decades old fear of "Big Tech", in this case, social media.
There is, perhaps, a much larger and more troublesome issue that THE SOCIAL DILEMMA highlights without intending to do so: it's very own format.
The decision to present this "documentary" as a "drama hybrid" (fictional portrayals) is frightening, because it acknowledges that viewers are simply too stupid to absorb the content unless it is packaged in an entertainment format.
