New COVID-19 infections in South Dakota increased by 262 as the number of people hospitalized with the disease also increased, the South Dakota Department of Health reported Wednesday.

The 102 people hospitalized with COVID-19 was up from 91 in the previous 24-hour report. Seventeen of those were receiving intensive care and nine were on ventilators.

One additional death from the disease was also reported, bringing the total to 1,864.

Eight new deaths were reported by the South Dakota Department of Health, as active cases of COVID-19 went up by 57 on Thursday.

According to the latest update, 156 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 111,964, from Wednesday (111,808).

The South Dakota Department of Health reported eight new death due to COVID-19 in Thursday’s update. The death toll is now at 1,872.

Active cases are now at 1,948, up from Wednesday (1,891).

Current hospitalizations are at 100, down Wednesday (102). Total hospitalizations throughout the pandemic are at 6,589.

According to the latest update, 143 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 112,107, up from Thursday (111,964).

The South Dakota Department of Health reported seven new deaths due to COVID-19 in Friday’s update. The death toll is now at 1,879.

Active cases are now at 1,944, down from Thursday (1,948).

Current hospitalizations are at 96, down from Thursday (100). Total hospitalizations throughout the pandemic are at 6,591.

South Dakota health officials reported seven more COVID-19 related-deaths and 187 new cases of the virus on Saturday.

The new figures bring the state's death toll to 1,886 since the pandemic began. There have been a total of 112,293 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state overall — as of Saturday, 1,910 of those cases were considered to be active.

The Argus Leader reported that hospitalizations due to COVID-19 dropped by five. A total of 91 people are currently hospitalized from the virus.

According to the latest update, 134 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 112,427, up from Saturday (112,293).

Active cases are now at 1,933, up from Saturday (1,910).

Current hospitalizations are at 89, down from Saturday (91). Total hospitalizations throughout the pandemic are at 6,626.

South Dakota has 43 new total cases of coronavirus, according to the state Department of Health.

Active cases are now at 1,918 down from Sunday’s 1,933.

The new persons tested 268. That is a 16% positive rate among new persons tested.

The state’s total case count is at 112, 470 up from Sunday’s 112,427.

The death toll remains at 1,888.

There were 92 hospitalized compared to 89 hospitalized on Sunday.

Total hospitalizations are at 6,632 increasing from the 6,626 total on Sunday.

The five additional deaths brought the state total to 1,893 and 181 new infections elevated active cases to 1,993.

Ninety-seven COVID-19 patients were occupying a hospital bed, an increase of five from the previous day's report. Sixteen required intensive care and eight were on ventilators.

A total of 112,833 South Dakotans have tested positive for the Coronavirus.

Active COVID-19 infections in South Dakota rose to above 2,000, the South Dakota Department of Health Reported, as three new deaths were also reported.

The 2,056 active cases came amid 232 new infections. The three deaths brought the total to 1,896.

The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 fell to 87. Seventeen of those were receiving intensive care and 10 were on ventilators.

No new deaths were reported from the disease caused by the coronavirus.

Occupied hospital beds by COVID-19 patients decreased to 74, with 18 of those receiving intensive care and eight on ventilators.

South Dakota health officials reported two more deaths from COVID-19 and 149 new cases on Saturday, while the number of active cases in the state has increased for the fifth straight day.

The state said there are currently 2,109 active cases of the virus in the state. That’s up from 13 a day earlier and the fifth-consecutive day of increases in active cases.

There have been a total of 1,898 deaths and more than 113,000 cases since the pandemic began. Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 stayed the same on Saturday, with 74 people hospitalized.

South Dakota reported two COVID-19-related deaths and 211 new cases on Sunday, the Department of Health said.

The DOH reported 2,158 active COVID-19 cases, up 49 from Saturday.

With the additional deaths reported, the total in the state since the start of the pandemic is now at 1,900, according to the DOH. There have been 113,589 total coronavirus cases in the state

Those currently hospitalized from COVID-19 decreased by two from Saturday’s report, with 72 reported Sunday, according to the DOH. South Dakota has had 6,705 total hospitalizations from the virus since the start of the pandemic.

One new death was reported in Monday’s update from the South Dakota Department of Health.

The death toll is now at 1,901.

Active cases are now at 2,067, down from Sunday (2,158).

South Dakota has seven new total cases of coronavirus, according to the state Department of Health.

While the difference in the total case count reported 113,596 and 113,589 equals 7, when you add the PCR, or newly confirmed, cases (9) and antigen, or new probable, cases (2), there were 11 new cases.

The state’s total case count is at 113,596, up from Sunday (113,589).

There are 67 current hospitalizations as of Monday compared to 72 on Sunday.

Total hospitalizations are at 6,708, up from Sunday (6,705).

South Dakota health officials reported 157 new COVID-19 cases as recoveries were up in the state on Tuesday.

The new cases bring the state’s total to 113,753 cases, according to the South Dakota Department of Health.

Active cases rose by 30 to 2,097 in South Dakota on Tuesday.

The death toll remained at 1,901. Over the weekend, the state surpassed 1,900 deaths. The state recorded another death Monday.

Slightly more South Dakotans are in the hospital, according to Tuesday’s report. The state reported four more, making 71 hospitalizations in the state. Overall, 6,725 South Dakotans have ever been hospitalized.

Three more South Dakotans have died due to COVID-19 infections, according to health officials on Wednesday, the one-year anniversary of the state’s first reported case.

On Wednesday, three deaths were reported bringing the state’s death toll to 1,904.

Active cases rose by 17 to 2,114 in South Dakota on Wednesday.

The state reported two more, making 73 hospitalizations in the state. Overall, 6,736 South Dakotans have ever been hospitalized.

Two more people died of COVID-19 and another 184 tested positive Friday in South Dakota, according the Department of Health.

Active cases continued to slightly rise, with an increase of 35 to 2,163 reported cases across the state.

As of Friday, 150 more people reported recovering from COVID-19 and five fewer people were hospitalized for the illness, with 62 people in a hospital or ICU bed.

Hospitalizations remained stable, with 64 COIVD-19 patients occupying a hospital bed. Of those, 13 were receiving intensive care and six were on ventilators.

There were 77 newly recovered patients, leaving the state with 2,106 active cases.

Active coronavirus cases are at their highest in over a month in South Dakota after health officials reported over 300 new cases on Friday.

The Department of Health reported an additional 316 new COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day total since Jan. 21. The state’s total case count is now 115,518.

Active cases rose by 76 to 2,240, the highest since Feb. 9 according to CDC data. However, the number of active cases remains far below the state’s peak in November when it approached 20,000.

There were no new deaths reported Friday. The state’s total remained at 1,919.

Current hospitalizations rose by three to 68.
