501 new coronavirus cases and no new deaths were reported in Tuesday’s update from the South Dakota Department of Health.

The death toll remained at 1,446. There have been 500 deaths reported in December.

On Tuesday, 501 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 98,158, up from Monday (97,657).

Active cases are now at 5,738, down from Monday (6,523). South Dakota was last under 6,000 active cases on Oct. 12.

Current hospitalizations are at 303, up from Monday (288). Total hospitalizations are at 5,605, up from Monday (5,583).

After nearly half of a week recording no new additional deaths, South Dakota reported 18 people died from COVID-19 Wednesday, according to the Department of Health.

The additional deaths brings the number of South Dakotans who have died due to COVID-19-related complications to 1,464.

The state reported 562 new cases, which came from 4,341 tests.

Hospitalizations dropped by 10 to 293 and a reported 553 people recovered from the illness.

As of Wednesday, 98,309 South Dakotans have had COVID-19.

Twenty-four new COVID-19 deaths were reported in Thursday’s update from the South Dakota Department of Health.

The death toll is now at 1,488. There have been 542 deaths reported in December.

On Thursday, 445 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 99,164, up from Wednesday (98,720).

Active cases are now at 5,696, down from Wednesday (5,729). South Dakota was last under 6,000 active cases was on Oct. 12.

Current hospitalizations are at 297, up from Wednesday (293). Total hospitalizations are at 5,672, up from Wednesday (5,639).

South Dakota on Saturday reported 13 deaths of people who contracted COVID-19, along with 666 new coronavirus cases from a two-day reporting period.

A total of 1,501 South Dakotans have died after contracting COVID-19.

The number of people hospitalized by the virus declined to 282 people statewide.

The COVID-19 death toll remained at 1,513 in South Dakota, according to Monday’s update from the South Dakota Department of Health.

On Monday, 111 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 100,643, up from Sunday (100,532).

Active cases are now at 6,031, up from Sunday (5,988).

Current hospitalizations are at 268, up from Sunday (262). Total hospitalizations are at 5,742, up from Sunday (5,732).

The 433 new infections outpaced the 430 recoveries by three, leaving the state with 6,034 active infections. The new positive infections were detected out of 3,380 new test results reported.

There were no additional deaths reported, and the number of people who died with COVID-19 stood at 1,513. It was the second day in which the state reported no new deaths.

Two additional people were hospitalized with the disease, with 270 beds statewide occupied by a COVID-19 patient. Since the start of the pandemic, 5,764 South Dakotans have received hospital care for the coronavirus.

Of those hospitalized Tuesday, 55 were receiving intensive care, one more than the previous day, and 35 were on ventilators, two fewer than Monday.

COVID-19 has claimed six more lives in South Dakota as active cases crept upwards Wednesday.

The new deaths bring total deaths in the state to 1,519, according to the South Dakota Department of Health.

Health officials reported 607 new coronavirus cases Wednesday, bringing total known cases in the state to 101,684. Active cases rose by 353 to 6,387.

The number of people currently hospitalized by the disease fell by six to 270. COVID-19 patients currently occupy 9.6% of the state’s hospital beds and 23.5% of ICU beds. Officials say 39.6% of hospital beds and 37.4% of ICU beds are still available.

South Dakota health officials on Thursday reported 25 new deaths due complications from the coronavirus, increasing the total number of COVID-19 fatalities to 1,544.

Thursday's daily update showed 448 new cases from 1,193 tests. There have been 102,132 positive tests since the start of the pandemic.

South Dakota reported 15 new deaths from COVID-19 Sunday, Jan. 10, in the latest batch of statistics released by the South Dakota Department of Health.

The department has reported a total of 1,585 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, while 237 people currently remained hospitalized with the disease. That is an increase over the 234 people hospitalized reported on Saturday. As of Sunday, 5,904 patients have been hospitalized with COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Active cases of the disease remained steady at 5,040, the same number as reported by the Department of Health on Saturday.

The latest figures bring the total number of confirmed cases to 92,967 since the tracking of the disease in South Dakota began in March.

South Dakota health officials have reported 181 more cases of COVID-19 since Sunday, bringing the state's total to 103,318.

According to Monday's report, 130 of the new cases are confirmed and 51 are probable.

The state's health department has reported no additional virus-related deaths, bringing the state's death toll to 1,585.

Currently, 242 residents in the state are hospitalized due to the virus, which is up from 237 reported on Sunday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 5,917 COVID-19 hospitalizations in South Dakota.

On Tuesday, 244 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 103,743, up from Monday (103,499).

Active cases are now at 4,751, down from Monday (5,102).

Current hospitalizations are at 240, down from Monday (242). Total hospitalizations are at 5,943, up from Monday (5,917).

COVID-19 has killed 19 more people in the state of South Dakota, according to data released Wednesday from the South Dakota Department of Health.

There were 452 new cases confirmed in the state, and the number of active cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota is now 4,762.

Wednesday's reported deaths bring the state's COVID-19 death toll to 1,604.

Hospitalizations rose to 253, with 39.5% of South Dakota's hospital beds available, and 31.5% of the state's adult ICU beds.

South Dakota health officials have reported over 377 more cases of COVID-19 since Wednesday, bringing the state's total to 106,063.

According to Thursday's report, 252 of the new cases are confirmed and 85 are probable.

State health officials say there are 4,089 active cases in the state, a decrease of 14 since yesterday.

The state's health department has reported six additional virus-related deaths, bringing the state's death toll to 1,673.

Currently, 185 residents in the state are hospitalized due to the virus, which is down from the 195 reported on Wednesday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 6,133 COVID-19 hospitalizations in South Dakota.

The deaths of 11 people were reported in the latest COVID-19 case data from South Dakota Department of Health on Friday.

With the newly reported ones, the total COVID-19 deaths in the state now stands at 1,684.

On Friday, 316 new total coronavirus cases were announced bringing the state’s total case count to 106,716, up from Thursday (106,400). While the difference in the total case count reported Friday and Thursday equals 316, when you add the PCR, or newly confirmed, cases (247) and antigen, or new probable, cases (72), there were 319 new cases.

Active cases are at 4,090, up from Thursday (4,089).

Current hospitalizations are at 177, down from Thursday (185). Total hospitalizations are at 6,159, up from Thursday (6,133).

Nine new deaths and 185 COVID-19 cases were reported in South Dakota on Sunday, the Department of Health announced.

The nine newly reported deaths bring the total since the start of the pandemic to 1,705. South Dakota has reported 107,148 cases of COVID-19,

There are 4,005 active coronavirus cases in South Dakota.

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 decreased by 10 in the last day to 162, the state reported.

Just over 41.3% of hospital beds are available in the state as of Sunday’s report. There are 42.2% of adult ICU beds available in the state.
