Orange County reported 47 additional COVID-19 fatalities and 1,003 new cases Monday as hospitalization rates continued a downward trend.

The numbers brought the county’s cumulative death toll to 3,109 and the caseload to 233,394.

The number of people hospitalized with coronavirus continued to trend downward, dropping from 1,412 on Sunday to 1,362 on Monday while the number of patients in intensive care dropped from 392 to 384.

The county’s state-adjusted ICU bed availability remains at zero, and the unadjusted figure increased from 9.8% Sunday to 10.9%.

The agency also reported 37 new deaths, bringing the total number of people who have died from the coronavirus to 3,199.

The county also reported 1,298 patients in local hospitals, which is 32 fewer than the previous report. There are 363 patients listed in intensive care units on Wednesday, a decline of 7 people from the previous day.

The agency reported 50 new deaths, bringing the total number of people who have died from the coronavirus to 3,249.

The county also reported 1,238 patients in local hospitals, which is 60 fewer than the previous report. There are 365 patients listed in intensive care units on Wednesday, a decline of 7 people from the previous day.

Orange County reported another 739 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the cumulative case total to 237,077.

Additionally, 33 more fatalities were reported, raising the death toll to 3,312.

The number of COVID-19 patients in county hospitals declined from 1,233 on Friday to 1,164 on Saturday — continuing a downward trend over the past few weeks. But the number of patients in intensive care increased from 342 to 347.

Orange County’s adjusted ICU bed availability is still at zero.

There were 335 patients listed in intensive care units on Sunday, a decrease of 12 people from the previous day.

The county reported 1,187 new cases of the coronavirus on Sunday, increasing the cumulative total in the county to 238,264 cases since tracking began.

The agency reported 46 new deaths, bringing the total number of people who have died from the coronavirus to 3,358.

The OC Health Care Agency reported 942 new cases of the coronavirus on Monday, Feb. 7, increasing the cumulative total in the county to 239,206 cases since tracking began.

The agency also reported 25 new deaths, bringing the total number of people who have died from the coronavirus to 3,383.

In local hospitals there were 1,046 patients with the coronavirus as of Monday, county officials reported. That is 47 fewer than the previous day and a 53.5% decrease from the Jan. 6 high of 2,249 patients.

There were 331 patients listed in intensive care units on Monday, a decrease of 4 people from the previous day.

The 14-day average of new daily cases, which was 11,242 on Thursday, Feb. 11, is down 52% from two weeks ago when it was 23,846 cases.

Reported hospitalizations fell below 1,000 on Thursday, for the first time since early December. There were 965 patients with the coronavirus in local hospitals as of Thursday.

There were 298 patients listed in intensive care units on Thursday, a decrease of 12 people from the previous day.

The county reported 779 new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday, increasing the cumulative total in the county to 240,999 cases since tracking began.

The agency also reported 42 new deaths, bringing the total number of people who have died from the coronavirus to 3,493.

On Saturday, the OC Health Care Agency reported 281 new cases of the virus, making for 246,264 cases since tracking began.

Noting ongoing issues with the state’s database that might be slowing reports of new deaths, county officials reported 12 additional deaths on Saturday. Orange County has had 3,904 people die of the virus, according to county records.

Saturday’s update by county officials said 444 people are currently hospitalized by the virus; with 128 of them in intensive care units.

The OC Health Care Agency reported 191 new cases of the coronavirus on Sunday, Feb. 28, and another 13 deaths.

The 191 cases added Sunday brings Orange County’s total of people who have tested positive for the virus to 246,455.

Sunday’s update brought the total people who have died in the county from the virus to 3,917.

On Sunday, 421 people were reported in local hospitals with COVID-19, of whom 132 needed to be in intensive care units.

The county update said 3,064,819 tests have been given for the coronavirus since testing began locally, with at least 6,713 new tests since the previous report.
